Met up with Jeff Travis at the Manitou Post office around 9:00 AM and rode over to Sturgis ky to Custom Biker wear.
the Local Chapter of Bikers for Christ had a Chili lunch and Blessing of the bikes.
The "predicted" weather was suppose to be around 54 degrees.
HA.....
40 at best!
and wind blowing 30-40 MPH along flat spots and levees.
Good bone chilling ride though.
When I got there, I was SO COLD I bought a new long sleeve shirt.
I had on a short sleeve shirt, Jean jacket and Leather vest but THAT wasn't enough for this day!
Met a lot of new friends there. Met Sonny Garrett, one of the members of the Sturgis Chapter of BFC. Lots of other Christian bikers.
After individual blessing of each bike (around 21) we had lunch. Good chili and hot dogs! Boy THAT hit the spot!
We decided not to go on the ride they planned. Originally they had planned to ride over to Marion and cross the ferry and go to Garden of the Gods in southern Illinois.
However, there were questions about the Ferry and if it was operating due to recent flooding.
They changed their route to go to Morganfield and then over to Providence and back.
Jeff and I opted to just ride back home since the weather wasn't that warm!
I made it home around 1:30 PM. FROZEN!
Every ride has it's own adventure!
